From October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, Dubai is gearing up to host the massive event Expo 2020. Over 190 countries will be represented at this colossal event, which will display the finest technologies, business opportunities, and showcase the vivid cultures of nations around the world. Expo 2020 Dubai aims to bring individuals, communities, and countries together to strengthen relationships and offer solutions to some of the world’s most critical issues.
In the phase of global business transformation, Dubai Expo 2020 is anticipated to help the UAE’s economy grow even faster. Also, slated as the MENA region’s largest, this event will be anchored on the possibility of strong and determined growth, as well as fruitful relationships. The Expo’s theme, ‘Connecting Minds and Creating the Future’, is to exhibit creativity, promote cooperation, knowledge sharing, and respect human ingenuity.
Expo 2020 has announced the introduction of Thrive Together, a business-focused project that will allow visitors and participants to discover new gateways for investors to the world market, providing AI-powered software that facilitates significant B2B, B2G, and G2G interactions across geographies, create meaningful connections, and cooperate to help the UAE.
The technological and innovation part of the expo sees major corporations using the platform to explore new business possibilities, establish strong alliances, and work together to ensure long-term economic success with their cutting edge innovations. Cisco’s state of the art digital network architecture and security management solutions have been installed at the site, making it the company’s largest project in the area, regularly learning, adapting and protecting to ensure a safe experience. Honeywell, a global technology giant and official sponsor of the United States Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, will demonstrate the power of quantum computing to millions of Expo visitors. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will thereafter hold its second Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME), which will challenge universities to design, build, and manage sustainable solar-powered homes while also showcasing DEWA’s important initiatives such as the Solar Park, Green Hydrogen Project and digital DEWA.
Another thought-provoking initiative is called the Programme for People and Planet, which aims to discover solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The programme will continue for the whole six months of Expo 2020, with 10 Theme Weeks and 18 International Days focusing on major global concerns such as climate change mitigation and biodiversity loss, bridging the digital gap, and guaranteeing equal access to education and healthcare.
Nadia Verjee, chief of staff, Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “As one of the first mega-events to take place since the beginning of the pandemic, Expo 2020 Dubai will be an important milestone for the global business community. It represents an unprecedented opportunity for businesses of all sizes, including SMEs and startups, as well as international organizations and government entities from across the world”.
This iconic event opens up countless opportunities to the social milieu. Be prepared to let your inner tech-savvy out as you explore the true potential of contemporary technological developments. From self-driving vehicles to space travel, to integrated 3D printing and 5G internet, as well as a variety of other energy-saving management solutions, there’s something for everyone. Expo 2020 will also be the Middle East’s first significant commercial client to provide 5G services.
Expo 2020 is considered as a beacon of hope in this difficult time, which serves as a driving stimulant for defining the legacy it leaves behind, and building a cleaner, safer, healthier environment, as well as an everlasting mark that future generations will strive to remember.
